Author Biography

Sandra Crouse Quinn is Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Services Administration at the University of Pittsburgh. She received her Ph.D from the University of Mary land and has an M.Ed. in counseling from The American University, Washington, D.C. She has been employed as a therapist in substance abuse treatment programs, employee assistance programs, and in private practice.

Marjorie E. Scaffa is Associate Professor and Chairperson of the department of Occupational Therapy at the University of South Alabama. She received her Ph.D. in Health Education from the University of Maryland. She received a B.S. in psychology from the University of Maryland and an M.S. in occupational therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including the National Institute of Health, with individuals addicted to alcohol and other drugs, and with their families. She has been responsible for establishing the new degree program and academic department of occuaptional therapy at the University of South Alabama.
